Questions and answers.
As an employer, you sign a contract with Deutsche Dienstrad (framework agreement). Your employees can order bikes via the digital Dienstrad platform and you approve these orders. The leasing company purchases the bike and leases it to you as a company. In return, you pay a monthly leasing fee and insurance for the bike. At the same time, you reduce the employee's gross salary by the corresponding fee, which is regulated in the automatically generated company bike contract. This so-called salary sacrifice does not incur any costs for you, and your employee benefits from a tax/social security advantage.
Of course! With a mobility allowance from the Employer, the company bike model really pays off for your employees. You can cover the leasing fees in full or subsidize only part of the fees. Then you deduct less from the employees' gross salary and they have lower costs. Bikes have become a popular bonus for rewarding good work by employees. Your employees will be grateful to you, because the bike is available for both work and pleasure use.
Basically all companies. Even if your company is bound by collective agreements, please feel free to contact us. There are several ways in which employers bound by collective agreements can offer company bikes.
You, the employer, are the lessee. You conclude the company bike contract internally with your employee, in addition to the employment contract. You will receive the contract digitally on our platform. This contract sets out the conditions for using the bicycle and the monthly salary sacrifice fee for payroll processing. The advantage for you is that this is all done digitally, without any paperwork or additional work.
The information in the Master Lease Agreement regulates the basic data for participation in the company bike model and the general conditions, e.g., maximum price, number of bikes per person, cost allocation, the person responsible for bike leasing, etc.

The employee can, for example, take over the bike for private use. The employer is protected in the event of termination of employment, for example due to dismissal or permanent incapacity for work, by the option of returning the bike to Deutsche Dienstrad. However, returning the bike is not mandatory. The employee is first given the opportunity to take over the company bike for private use and terminate the existing Contract.
Alternatively, the following solutions are possible:
- The Contract is taken over by another employee within your company.
- The employee takes the contract with them to their new Employer
- Free return to Deutsche company bike and collection of the bike at a desired address
Company bike leasing contracts have a term of 36 months. Of course, it may happen that an employee leaves the company during this period for various reasons. Deutsche Dienstrad guarantees complete risk exemption and the associated termination of contracts for you.

When the Company bike contract expires, your employees can request a purchase offer. If this purchase offer is accepted by the employee, the bike is sold to them. There is 0% risk at the end of the term, because Deutsche Dienstrad assumes any flat-rate taxation that may be incurred in the event of resale to employees in accordance with § 37b of the German Income Tax Act (EStG).
Our unique hybrid process offers your employees two ways to get their dream bike: directly through our nationwide network of specialist dealers or online. Your employees can choose their dream bike and have a free choice of brand, model, and manufacturer. Almost any bike can be a company bike, whether cheap or expensive. We offer leasing for all bikes between $749 and $11,900 euros including VAT. Employees can use our calculator to work out the approximate leasing rate. Once the bike has been selected, all steps are fully digital. All necessary documents, such as Company bike contracts, are generated automatically. The advantage for you: this keeps the effort involved to a minimum.
The leasing rate for the company bike is generally considered a business expense. Therefore, employers who are eligible for input tax deduction can deduct the VAT included in the conversion amount. As a result, the company bike is significantly cheaper for your employees than a conventional purchase. For employers who are not eligible for input tax deduction, the savings on the company bike are slightly lower.
No invoicing is necessary with Deutsche Dienstrad. As soon as a customer orders a company bike through you, a pickup code is generated, which must be presented at your location. After entering this code, you will receive a credit note as a PDF file on our digital company bike platform. The amount will be automatically credited to your account within 3 business days.
